ABOUT US

Sandwell African Caribbean Development Agency established in March 1994 operates under the Company Limited by Guarantee Trading Format.

It was established as a partnership involving the Department of Employment and Environment, Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, Training and Education Agencies, Voluntary and Private Sectors.

Target Groups:
Even though SACDA's services are specifically targeted at the African Caribbean residents in Sandwell, they are available to all residents in the borough.

HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT

A series of independent studies undertaken in the past by various consultants namely Coopers and Lybrand in June 1987, AMTS and Associate Management Consultants in January 1989 and Michael Brown Manangement Consultants in November 1992 identified the need for SACDA to address the education, training, employment and self employment needs of the African Caribbean Community in Sandwell.

In 1992, a shadow Board was formed to oversee the establishment and development of the organistaion. In 1994, the organistaion was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee.
SACDA has since then developed from an organistaion with a very uncertain future, to an organistaion that is now recognised nationally for the key role it plays regarding training, employment and enterprise training and support in Sandwell.
